How To Wash?

One of the most asked questions and what many people tend to freak out about, is when it comes time to wash the pocket cloth diapers... Well, luckily for you, in this guide we will explain our step by step process on how to proceed when cleaning your pocket cloth diapers.

Step #1: Remove The Soiling
Depending on the age of the baby the poop can be more soluble in water or be more solid.

If it looks more like water, you would simply throw it into the diaper pail so it is ready to be washed and go straight to Step #2.
In case it is more solid, dump the contents into the toilet.

OPTIONAL: A great way to help you make this process simpler is by using a diaper liner. Liners look like dryer sheets and are placed on top of the clean diaper. Made for a single use, these soft paper-like pieces are used to make clean-up of poopy diapers easier. You simply lift the liner to catch the solids and flush it all down your toilet or throw it in the trash. They are made with 100% of bamboo. Super soft, wicks moisture away quickly and can keep your baby comfortable even when wet. After this, you can place the diaper in the diaper pail with the others.

Step #2: Wash The Pocket Cloth Diapers And Inserts

Firstly, throw your pocket cloth diapers and the inserts one by one to the washing machine. Then, run a cold cycle in the washing machine in order to reduce any staining.

Make sure the insert is outside the pocket cloth diaper for better cleaning.

Step #3: Dry The Pocket Cloth Diaper And Inserts

We recommend that once cleaned the diapers and inserts should be air-dried, outside in the sun.

Sun rays are perfect for destroying any bacteria left and make the diapers smell even fresher. If you can’t dry them outside, inside your home is also an option.

We don’t recommend the use of a dryer, as it can be damaging for the diaper especially for the elastics, snaps, and waterproof linings.

How often should I wash my pocket cloth diapers?

We recommend washing your pocket cloth diapers every 1 -2 days. Washing them this often is the best way to take good care of them and to get them last longer.
